Material forms act as mediators between artist, audience, and place. These sculptural objects emerging from site-based research are part-index, part-prophecy.
Remnants of the field were first explored in a solo exhibition held at fortyfivedownstairs gallery leading to the multimedia sculptural forms developed for the final presentation. They do not illustrate but extend them into alternate temporalities, what I term memory meters and water registrars, reocurring themes in my work.
As sculptures, they operate in forms of spatial thinking, as installations embodying the emotional and ecological residues of the fieldwork, translating lived encounters with water into material propositions.
